why'd you sell a vx and not plan on getting anything better? VX is going to be obsolete very soon. |

is there anythign comparable to the death lens that isnt 800 bucks? there has to be. You can get a modray. A modray is Raynox MX3000 semifisheye ($100) then you modify using the widening glass from a 37mm threaded .6x Sony wide angle conversion lens($45). The end result is an affordable fisheye that is pretty close to the quality of a deathlens. That's what I used while I saved up for my deathlens. Here's a link to how to do it in detail.

HD is the future but until the price comes down, there's going to be a lot of skate filmers using their trusty vx camcorders. There is plenty of parts out there to keep these cameras working too. |

5/22/2008 1:42 PM Whats up with any fisheyes being used on HD camcorders? Is there anything out there that can give the distortion and wide-ness of the death on an HD camcorder? I figure I should keep my vx and death for lines, and get a DVX for long lens, then one of those HV20 or HV30 cameras with a 35mm adapter for some HD artsy shots. Even if I had those two camcorders, I would still keep my vx. This ain't a mindless defense of the vx, I just still feel the vx has applications among the additions of better camcorders in vids for quite awhile. |
