final cut, premier or even imovie if your just starting out. vegas is supposed to be alright too but ive never fucked with it.

it depends on the type of computer you have and how much money you are willing to spend the best one out is Adobe premiere CS3 with After effects CS3 they run about 500 hundred each. the best one for cheap is Sony Vegas they have some good effects i used it before adobe and it worked out great.

i used vegas. its sooooo simple and convenient. but if you want something more profession looking and are willing to spend money, do try final cut pro or even avid. avid's one of the more acclaimed softwares but final cut pro is also quite popular

i use adobe after effects i dont know anyother programs that you can do smooth ramp slo-mo's with

fully flared is a combination of a bunch of different programs. much more than just final cut. but that's definitely what you need..
